Educating girls leads to lifetime change and empowerment for Maasai and Kisii girls in remote villages of southwestern Kenya. Education reduces risks such as school drop-out, early marriage, violence, female genital cutting, early or forced pregnancy

 

Every woman’s story counts. The stories are inter-generational. As a group of story-tellers, the women identify their own challenges and come up with solutions. They build a community of resilience and protection. They raise their voices to end violence against women and girls

The spirt of community sharing and care is inspiring. When a woman receives a goat as a source of livelihood, she returns the first kid to the group, and cares for the goat to reproduce more kids for her family’s livelihood. That is the same spirit for chicken or proceeds from a small business.
